This past weekend was a big deal to me, my very good friend threw me a baby shower.
Although I'm on my second baby, I had never had one before. If I'm honest, I'm not one for parties. I rarely have one for my birthday, I usually go out for a meal and then on to a bar (or three).
My friend had been going through a bit of a tough time recently and I had been giving her some help and advice throughout so she insisted on throwing me the shower to thank me. I won't bore you with the details and I didn't take pictures of my guests as I wasn't sure how they would feel about being plastered across my blog! That said, here's a few photos of the decorations and the amazing cake that another friend made me for the occasion (she made our wedding cake too, she is the best baker in East Sussex, hands down)!
We played a few games including baby food tasting (so gross) and a nursery rhyme quiz. The children had a pass-the-parcel in which all the chocolate buttons melted. My husband was at a bit of a loss as to what to do with himself so towards the end, our friend and god-father to Bear came over to have barbecue for dinner...and so began thirty minutes of the pair of them looking at the gas barbecue thoughtfully.
Oh, and they drank this...Iron Maiden ale.
We rock (literally) at barbecues!
If you've had a baby shower, link me up, I'd love to read about them!
